Dear Daily Apostle : Are interracial relationships wrong?

There are two examples in the Old Testament that deal with this topic and the conclusions we can draw from these instances give us a good indication of God’s view on interracial relationships.

Firstly, we have the Israelites who were forbidden by the Old Testament Law to engage in interracial marriage (Deuteronomy 7:3-4). When the Israelites broke this law they angered God who allowed them to be led astray.

Secondly, we have the Nephilim who were the offspring of fallen angels and female humans (Genesis 6:1-4). This hybrid race was giant in size, had superhuman strength and did great evil. Their very existence was one of the main reasons for the flood that killed everyone on earth except for those on the ark.

Since the New Testament doesn’t mention this issue we can be safe in assuming that the standards God had before, he still has today. Therefore, in order to glorify God we should refrain from marrying anyone from an ethnic group outside of our own.
